  1. Hi Rachel, a question, you talk of getting reviews, but can the reviews appear as reviews on the Kindle website as they are not technically Kindle readers? Or are they just collated at the bottom of the description of product page. Not sure how that happens. Obviously the reviews that come on the top of the page are more vital, but how does a “professional” reviewer get them there? Do you request them to put their review with other readers or is there a special uploading facility. Many thanks for your informative web page. G Brailey

    • Hi Gill
I’ve just responded to your email – but in case anybody else is reading this – anybody can write a review for anything – whether they’ve purchased the product or not. I can’t say whether I think this is a good thing or a bad thing, and it’s certainly open to abuse. But it does mean that a professional reviewer who is given a free copy (rather than buying one) can post a review. Normally the good ones say that they were given a copy of the book to review. Where they are positioned on the screen depends on a number of things. The default is based on the number of people who have said the review was helpful. You can also sort by newest review.

You might also be referring to the fact that I said you should put extracts of reviews in your product description page. This isn’t the reviewer that does this. You choose reviews that you like and select a few lines from a review. Put this at the top of your product description.

      I hope this helps.
